Job summary

EY Malaysia is seeking a capable Finance & Accounting professional to manage and maintain critical financial reporting across the general ledger, reconciliations, intercompany activities and asset accounting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

You will prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, support month-end and year-end close, and assist with audits and regulatory reporting within a diverse and inclusive global context.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in finance and accounting, preferably in Financial Reporting.
• Experience in an MNC, SSC, or Malaysian public-listed company is a plus.
• Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain critical financial reporting processes, including general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, and financial statement preparation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with established accounting standards, reporting guidelines, and internal controls.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis, ensuring completeness and compliance with reporting timelines.
• Perform financial statement analysis and investigate reporting variances, reconciling discrepancies and ensuring the integrity of financial data.
• Coordinate statutory, regulatory, and management reporting requirements while supporting internal and external audit requests.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to strengthen reporting processes, standardize work procedures, and enhance the quality and efficiency of financial reporting.
• Partner with stakeholders across finance and business teams to resolve reporting issues, provide financial insights, and support informed decision-making.

Skills and attributes for success

What we look for

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in finance and accounting functions, preferably in Financial Reporting
• Experience working in an MNC, shared service center or Malaysian Public listed company is an added advantage
• Knowledge and understanding of SAP system or other ERP system
