Financial Controllers (Reporting|Costing|Planning) Manufacturing MNC- Shah Alam

The Financial Controller will lead all aspects of our financial function - combining strong technical accounting expertise with forward-looking financial planning. This role is ideal for a finance leader who can ensure accurate financial reporting while driving budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy to support business growth. As a key member of the leadership team, you’ll oversee a small but capable finance team and play a critical role in shaping the company's financial direction. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and senior leadership, to ensure financial insights drive smart decision-making. The duties of the Financial Controller typically include:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Own the month-end and year-end close processes.
  2. Ensure timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with accounting standards (MPERS/internal policies).
  3. Manage internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance; oversee accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger.
  4. Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts.
  5. Develop financial models for planning, scenario analysis, and decision-making.
  6. Monitor performance against budget and deliver variance analysis with insights.
  7. Partner with operations, warehouse, and technical teams to monitor COGS, inventory, and production costs.
  8. Implement cost control initiatives and identify efficiency opportunities.
  9. Support pricing strategies and margin improvement plans.
  10. Advise leadership on financial implications of business initiatives.
  11. Support investment analysis (e.g., capex, expansion, equipment purchases).
  12. Present financial results and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  13. Lead and mentor the finance team to ensure high performance.
  14. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration.
  15. Handle long-term leases, business contracts, and agreements.
  16. Provide reports as required to management.
  17. Perform any other relevant tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA) is advantageous.
  2. 7+ years of experience in progressively senior finance roles, preferably in manufacturing or product-based companies.
  3. Proven track record in financial reporting and strategic planning.
  4. Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and operational finance.
  5. Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; ERP experience preferred, especially with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.
  6. Knowledge of Jet Reports is an advantage.
  7. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Own transportation and willingness to travel are required.
