Financial Controller (Manufacturing Company)

The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading all financial aspects of the company, ensuring compliance with MFRS and other statutory requirements to achieve strategic business objectives and long-term sustainability. Provide financial advisory on acquisitions, mergers, and business expansions to ensure they align with group strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all finance initiatives, including financial planning, policies, compliance, and timely financial reporting in accordance with MFRS & statutory requirements.
  • Report progress to the Board of Directors (BOD).
  • Prepare quarterly reports for Bursa.
  • Oversee audited accounts for subsidiaries and the group.
  • Prepare monthly management reports.
  • Provide financial analysis on profitability and the validity of business plans to management; participate in strategic reviews and periodic assessments.
  • Review and monitor the yearly budget, including monthly profit & loss forecasts and actual financial reports for the group.
  • Develop insightful business plans and strategies to support growth, highlighting financial implications of proposals and decisions.
  • Guide business plans and ensure optimal resource allocation through budgeting and performance management.
  • Manage cash conversion cycle to ensure cost efficiency, drive effective weekly closing of books, and day-end reporting.
  • Drive and achieve monthly KPIs for the business and team; continuously monitor and fine-tune KPIs to meet objectives.
  • Support overall financial performance, and drive continuous process improvements to optimize operations.
  • Provide leadership in resource maximization, asset utilization, and streamlining work processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a professional qualification (ACCA/ CPA/ ICAEW/ MICPA) or equivalent.
  • More than ten years of experience in a financial managerial role with strong people management skills, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Experience as a controller in a publicly listed company in Malaysia.
