Position Summary
This role has the overall supervision of Resort Accounting for LLMR. You will plan, organize, direct and control accounting and control functions of LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort - Park. Providing reporting and financial oversight of project and operational results and advising and making recommendations to management based on financial results. You will work with all departments to provide support and coordination through financial reporting and analysis and liaise directly with Group Functions.
Responsibilities
- Supervision: Oversees professional staff positions of the finance team including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, and inventory functions with the potential to include cash control departments. Responsible for operational effectiveness, leadership, training, staffing, and personnel decisions.
- Accounting Records: Ensures LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort system of accounts and records are properly maintained. Ensures compliance with accounting and tax statutory requirements (IFRS). Reviews balance sheet accounts accurately with supporting documentation.
- Operational Controls: Coordinates and administers a plan for financial control of operations, including profit planning, revenue forecasts, expense budgets, cost standards, capital investment, and risk management. Implements necessary controls and procedures.
- Internal Controls: Protects LEGOLAND Malaysia assets through internal controls, auditing, and insurance coverage.
- Internal and External Reporting: Compares performance with plans/budgets, provides reports, and interprets operational results to management. Prepares audited financial statements, internal financial reports, and handles audit requests.
- Cash Management: Provides cash flow forecasts, manages disbursements and collections in accordance with policies.
- Support: Assists departments with financial information and supports ad-hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Minimum five years of progressive experience in Accounting and Finance
- Leadership and effective communication skills
- Experience with financial planning, revenue forecasting, budgeting, and project management
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Management skills including team development and coaching
- Hospitality industry experience preferred
