Job Description

You will be responsible for:

  1. Financial Accounting & Reporting:
    • Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and fixed asset management.
    • Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
    • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
    • Generate management accounts and reports, providing analysis of financial performance to stakeholders.
    • Prepare supporting schedules for financial audits.
  2. Budgeting & Forecasting:
    • Assist in developing the annual budget and financial forecasts.
    • Monitor financial performance against budgets, analyzing variances.
    • Provide insights to manage costs and optimize spending.
  3. Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
    • Monitor cash balances and manage cash flow for liquidity.
    • Prepare cash flow forecasts.
    • Manage banking relationships.
  4. Tax & Statutory Compliance:
    • Ensure timely submission of statutory filings, including corporate tax, SST, and withholding tax.
    • Liaise with tax agents, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
    • Stay updated on tax laws and standards.
  5. Internal Controls & Process Improvement:
    • Implement internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data accuracy.
    • Identify process improvement opportunities.
    • Ensure policy adherence.
  6. Team Leadership & Development:
    • Supervise and mentor finance team members.
    • Foster a collaborative environment.
    • Conduct performance reviews and support professional growth.
  7. Financial Analysis & Support:
    • Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions.
    • Provide insights for operational planning.

The Successful Applicant

You are suitable if you have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA Australia, CIMA, or MIA membership is preferred.
  • At least 5-8 years of experience in finance or accounting, with 2-3 years in a supervisory role in Malaysia.
  • Strong knowledge of MFRS and Malaysian tax laws.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Xero, SQL Accounting).
  • Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication skills to explain financial data to non-finance colleagues.
  • High integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

What's on Offer
