Role Overview
You will be responsible for financial reporting and regulatory compliance. You will supervise the daily activities of the accounting team and manage the professional development of direct reports. Additionally, you will partner with business leaders on critical projects and strategic planning. This role demands exceptional leadership, rapid learning, and strong project management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations of the finance and accounting team, ensuring timely and accurate month-end close, statutory, tax, and regulatory reporting.
- Oversee financial reporting processes, including group consolidation, external audits, and IFRS compliance.
- Develop and implement robust business processes and internal controls for data integrity and compliance.
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning; analyze variances.
- Support corporate finance activities like due diligence, expansion, and investor reporting.
- Partner with Malaysian and Payment Business leadership, providing financial insights and support.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering continuous improvement.
- Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and external stakeholders.
- Identify and execute process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
- Contribute to new finance projects, standardization, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Perform other assigned tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred.
- At least 6 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, including supervisory roles; startup experience valued.
- Experience in a Big 4 audit firm is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, MFRS, and relevant regulations (e.g., FRS 9, 7, 32, 15).
- Advanced Excel and ERP skills (e.g., Netsuite).
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fast learner with proactive, hands-on approach and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under pressure.
