Job summary

Morgan McKinley is partnering with a global MNC client in Malaysia to hire a Finance Manager who will oversee monthly management accounts, local statutory filings and external audits, ensuring alignment between local books and group reporting across the entity.

You will lead and coach the local finance team, strengthen internal controls, drive SEA regional finance initiatives, and continually streamline closing timelines while improving data quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or Finance.
• 3–4 years public audit (Big 4 preferred) plus 2–4 years in a commercial finance role.
• Strong knowledge of technical accounting standards, internal controls, and multi-entity reporting.
• Hands-on, detail-oriented, capable of fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring alignment between local statutory books and group financial reporting.
• Manage all local statutory reporting, tax filings, and regulatory compliance requirements within Malaysia.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax agents, and corporate secretarial advisors to ensure smooth audit cycles.
• Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls and accounting processes to ensure adherence to group policies and reporting standards.
• Collaborate on regional finance projects across Southeast Asia (SEA), driving specialized operational support for the Acumen channel.
• Identify and implement continuous improvements to streamline reporting workflows, shorten closing timelines, and enhance overall data quality.
• Lead, coach, and scale the local finance team while actively balancing hands-on operational delivery with high-level supervisory duties and ad-hoc management requests.
