Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role.
  • Prior experience in an EPCC, construction, or project-based environment is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of MFRS, tax regulations, Bursa compliance, and project accounting.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Mandarin is preferable.

Job Title: Finance Manager

Location: Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia
Industry: Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Commissioning (EPCC)
Reports To: Financial Controller / Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Company Type: Public Listed Company (PLC)

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Finance Manager to lead the finance function of our EPCC operations. The successful candidate will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, project costing, treasury, and regulatory compliance. This role plays a critical part in supporting business growth, ensuring financial discipline, and delivering strategic insights to the leadership team.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance
  • Lead the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and Bursa Malaysia requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and tax obligations (e.g. SST, income tax, LHDN, etc.).

  • Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities.


Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Oversee annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.

  • Work closely with department heads and project managers to monitor budget utilization and control.

  • Analyze variances between actual results and budgets/forecasts, and recommend corrective actions.


Project Accounting & Cost Control
  • Monitor project cash flows, budgets, costs, and profitability.

  • Collaborate with project and operations teams to ensure proper tracking of revenues and expenses.

  • Support contract evaluation and costing for tenders and ongoing projects.


Cash Flow & Treasury Management
  • Manage cash flow planning and ensure sufficient liquidity for operations and project funding.

  • Optimize working capital and manage banking relationships, facilities, and covenants.


Internal Controls & Process Improvement
  • Implement and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and procedures.

  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting systems.

  • Ensure adherence to internal control standards and risk management policies.


Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals.

  • Provide financial advice and insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, project, and commercial teams.

Job Requirements
