Job summary

A leading company in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Finance & Accounts Manager to oversee finance and accounting functions. This key role involves ensuring compliance with regulations, managing financial operations, and supporting the company’s financial health. Qualifications

  • 10+ years of finance/accounting experience in manufacturing with turnover over RM100mil.
  • High proficiency in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Experience in multinational companies is preferred.

Job description

Hiroyuki Industries (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Finance & Accounts Manager to lead the finance and accounting functions of the company. This role involves overseeing monthly financial operations, forecasting, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with Malaysian and international financial regulations. The Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the company’s financial health and reporting to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely financial information.

Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee and manage the company’s finance, accounting, and tax functions, including treasury, cash-flow management, and auditing activities.
  2. Lead the Finance & Accounts team to ensure smooth daily operations and sufficient cash flow.
  3. Manage end-to-end finance functions, month-end closing activities, and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to Management.
  4. Review monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  5. Ensure compliance with Malaysian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), relevant tax authorities, government regulations, and international standards (for overseas operations).
  6. Monitor financial statements to ensure compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.
  7. Manage tax planning, savings strategies, and funding strategies for development projects and banking facilities.
  8. Liaise with financial institutions, external auditors, tax agents, and other external stakeholders.
  9. Coordinate budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost monitoring.
  10. Handle monthly payroll for management and staff level.
  11. Perform other ad-hoc activities as required by Management.
Qualifications, Requirements, Skills, and Competencies:
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a professional qualification such as ACCA or equivalent.
  2. Min 10 years of manufacturing finance/accounting experience with turnover more than RM100mil.
  3. Experience working in a multinational company is an added advantage.
  4. High proficiency in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Malaysia (both spoken and written). We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
  5. Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, financial planning and analysis, and forecasting.
  6. Knowledge of Service Tax, Withholding Tax, and custom requirements.
  7. Familiarity with income tax computation and submission.
  8. Experience using the SQL Financial Accounting System is advantageous.
  9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  10. Meticulous, resourceful, assertive, and proactive work ethic.
  11. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  12. Preferably, experience in Manufacturing/Production Operations or a similar industry.
  13. Shorter notice period will be an advantage.
