This is a key leadership role within the Finance function, overseeing end-to-end financial operations with a strong emphasis on costing, compliance, budgeting, and internal controls. You will work closely with operational and corporate teams, while managing a lean Accounts and Costing team, providing guidance and driving them toward operational excellence.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the Accounts, Costing, Payroll, and Office Administration functions
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly closings, financial statements, and internal reporting
- Oversee costing operations and review variance analysis in relation to budgets and operational performance
- Ensure compliance with MFRS, tax laws, and all statutory requirements including submissions to regulatory bodies
- Review and manage cash flow forecasts, payroll processes, and insurance computations
- Coordinate the preparation of annual operating and payroll budgets
- Liaise with internal/external auditors, tax agents, and statutory authorities (IRB, BNM, EPF, Customs, etc.)
- Contribute to system improvements, financial process enhancements, and ERP upgrades
- Support corporate finance assignments and act as the deputy to the Senior Finance Manager when required
- Promote compliance with company policies and maintain workplace safety and health protocols across finance operations
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related degree; professional certification (e.g. MIA, ACCA) is an advantage
- Minimum 8 years of relevant finance experience, preferably within manufacturing industry
- Hands-on experience in costing, budgeting, payroll review, and financial reporting
- Strong leadership experience, including managing unionised and long-serving team members
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, audit, and internal controls
- Proficient in communicating across departments; fluency in Mandarin or Chinese dialects is necessary for team coordination
