Job summary

A leading property development company in Johor Bahru is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee all accounting functions. This role involves managing month-end closings, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Ideal candidates will possess a degree in Accounting or Finance and have extensive experience in property-related accounting, demonstrating strong leadership in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years of accounting experience in property development, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of property-related accounting treatment and project revenue recognition.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Your new company
This company specialises within the property development sector, and is renowned for its residential development. Due to the company's expansion, they are looking for a Finance Manager.


Your new role
As the Finance Manager, you will be in charge of:

  • Manage the full spectrum of accounting functions including GL, AP, AR, and project costing.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Prepare and review management reports, financial statements, and project profitability analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with MFRS, Company Act, and relevant statutory requirements.
  • Monitor project cash flow, progress billings, collections, and loan drawdowns.
  • Coordinate budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning exercises.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree in Accounting/Finance or professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, MIA, etc.)
  • Minimum 5-7 years of accounting experience in property development, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
  • Strong knowledge of property-related accounting treatment, project revenue recognition, and development costs
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Independent, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
