Overview
Finance Manager role at Hilton Garden Inn Kota Kinabalu Tuaran. Lead the hotel’s financial processes, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance. Collaborate with senior management to provide insights and recommendations that enhance financial performance and support strategic decision-making. Oversee the finance team, ensure accuracy of financial data and adherence to company policies and local regulations. Drive cost control and revenue growth for the hotel.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement financial strategies to achieve the hotel’s business objectives.
- Monitor financial performance, provide analysis and recommendations to improve profitability.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare and manage annual budgets and periodic forecasts, ensuring alignment with hotel goals; track performance, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, presenting findings to senior management.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with local financial regulations, company policies, and industry standards; identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, providing training and support to enhance skills and performance; review work for accuracy and policy compliance.
- Cost Control & Operational Efficiency: Implement cost control measures to optimize expenditures while maintaining quality standards; collaborate with operational teams to identify and implement process improvements.
- Audit Support & Coordination: Manage internal and external audits, ensuring timely documentation; address audit findings and ensure implementation of improvements.
What It Takes
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines.
