A leading company in healthcare is seeking a Finance Manager based in Kuala Lumpur. This role encompasses overseeing the Accounts Receivable team, improving processes, ensuring compliance, and collaborating cross-border with Singapore. Ideal candidates will possess strong leadership and analytical skills, with a background in finance and experience in accounts receivable management.
The Finance Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the Accounts Receivable (AR) team based in Malaysia. This involves reviewing team work, streamlining processes, developing backup systems, and contributing to the overall financial health of both entities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills, along with a proven track record in accounts receivable management.
Responsibilities
Team Management & Oversight: Lead, mentor, and motivate the AR team based in Malaysia, providing guidance and support to ensure individual and team goals are met. Conduct regular performance reviews and identify training needs.
Process Review & Streamlining: Thoroughly review existing AR processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement. Implement changes to optimize workflows and enhance productivity across both entities. Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to track team and individual performance.
Develop Backup System: Design and implement robust manpower backup to mitigate risks associated with data or staff absences. This includes developing clear documented procedures and cross-training team members.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze AR data to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement. Prepare regular reports summarizing key metrics, outstanding receivables, and aging analysis for weekly and monthly and quarterly. Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Compliance & Controls: Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, policies, and regulatory requirements. Implement and maintain strong internal controls to prevent errors and fraud. Liaise with external auditors, oversee & facilitate audit process for annual financial audit
Debt Collection: Oversee the debt collection process for both entities, proactively addressing overdue invoices and pursuing outstanding payments, and recommendation in doubtful/bad debts and ECL. Develop strategies for effective debt recovery and explore solutions for minimizing bad debt across both locations.
Cross-border Collaboration: Work closely with the Singapore-based team, involving regular communication, data sharing, and alignment on best practices.
Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek opportunities to improve AR processes and efficiency for both Malaysian and Singapore entities. Stay updated on best practices and new technologies in accounts receivable management.
Project Management: Managing AR-related projects, including system implementations or upgrades, process improvements, and special initiatives.
Requirements
Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Finance/Accountancy or equivalent with minimum 8-10 years of relevant working experiences post-degree
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
Minimum 3-5 years O2C (Order to Cash) experience, including and strong understanding of Credit Control principles and practices
Experience in healthcare preferred
Good Analytical skills with an eye for details
Good interpersonal and written/spoken communication skills
Good team player who is able to work independently and under time pressure
