Finance Manager

The Finance Manager will take ownership of the monthly account closing process and ensure the preparation of accurate financial statements and reports on time. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with other teams to deliver actionable insights and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

Job Descriptions:

Monthly Account Closing:

• Lead and manage the end-to-end monthly closing process, ensuring all accounts are reconciled and closed accurately and on time.
• Ensure timely posting of journal entries, accruals, and adjustments for month-end close.
• Review balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data.
• Work closely with accounting and other departments to gather necessary information and resolve any discrepancies.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.
• Generate monthly reports for senior management, highlighting key financial metrics, variances, and trends.
• Provide commentary on month-end results for management review.

Reconciliations:

• Oversee the reconciliation of general ledger accounts, ensuring that all discrepancies are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
• Perform detailed reviews of bank reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and other critical account reconciliations.

Internal Controls & Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements during the monthly close process.
• Identify areas for improvement in financial processes and implement controls to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of the close process.

Process Improvement & Efficiency:

• Continuously review and streamline the monthly closing process, looking for opportunities to reduce close timelines and increase efficiency.
• Implement and maintain best practices in accounting operations to ensure timely and accurate monthly reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., operations, sales, and procurement) to ensure accuracy of financial data and resolve any issues related to monthly close.
• Act as the main point of contact for any inquiries related to monthly closing and reporting.
• Provide support for any ad hoc reporting or analysis needed by senior management, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
• Professional membership (MIA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent certification) is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on month-end close and financial reporting.
• Proven experience in managing monthly financial reporting cycles and working with accounting software.
• Experience with Accounting Software (e.g. Autocount, SQL & etc) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (MFRS).
• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines and deliver accurate financial information.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with senior management and other departments.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
