Job description

The candidate must be driven, take interest in knowing the business, work closely with various internal business partners and strongly support the General Manager. The incumbent must be able to contribute to strategical and tactical decisions that will shape the company’s present and future directions.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the General Manager and Regional Controller to develop and manage annual budgets, and prepare periodic forecasts
  • Manage and oversee daily operations of the finance and accounting department
  • Perform credit controlling and conduct periodic review
  • Support internal business partners on the review of business terms and conditions and provide suggestions to minimize contractual risks and optimize returns
  • Monitor collections, approve payments and ensure adequate cash flow
  • Process monthly payroll and expense claims
  • Complete monthly closings and submit company and group reports according to schedule
  • Prepare month-end schedules, statements and reports
  • Perform financial analysis, identify issues and provide solutions to mitigate business risks
  • Report and pay various taxes, levies and compulsory contributions such as for corporate income tax, withholding tax and payroll on a timely basis
  • Coordinate and complete annual statutory audits and group reports on a timely basis
  • Establish proper accounting methods, policies and principles
  • Ensure operational compliance with policies, procedures and regulations
  • Identify issues and implement corrective actions to improve systems, controls, processes and procedures
  • Assist the General Manager and Regional Controller on other accounting and administrative tasks or other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, SKILLS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in accountancy, finance or related field
  • Accounting, financial controlling and reporting skill sets
  • Knowledge of various taxes, levies and compulsory contributions
  • Knowledge of employment law and experience in handling payroll
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with at least 3 years at management level
  • Able to lead a team, manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Strong command of spoken and written English and Malay Language
  • Advanced experience with SAPB1
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated, proactive, strong responsibility and high integrity
