A leading educational institution is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee financial operations, budget management, and compliance. This role involves strategic financial planning, ensuring financial stability, and collaborating with school leadership. Develop and manage the school’s annual budget, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and long-term financial sustainability.
Monitor and control income, expenditure, and financial commitments to maintain financial stability.
Provide in-depth financial analysis, forecasting, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Collaborate with school leadership and department heads to set realistic financial targets and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards in school operations.
Prepare and present budget reports to the Principal, Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders.
Implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and strengthen financial accountability.
2. Financial Operations & Reporting
Oversee daily financial transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, procurement, and cash flow management.
Ensure the accuracy of financial records in compliance with applicable accounting standards, policies, and regulations.
Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard financial resources and prevent fraud.
Prepare and deliver timely financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual, etc.) for leadership and regulatory bodies.
Conduct financial forecasting, cash flow projections, and variance analysis to support cost optimisation.
Ensure full compliance with tax filings, financial audits, and all relevant regulatory requirements.
Responsible for the development, implementation, and effective utilisation of financial systems to support accurate reporting, informed decision-making, and operational efficiency.
3. Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure full compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and international accounting standards.
Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring accurate financial reporting and promptly addressing audit findings.
Develop and implement financial policies and internal controls to prevent fraud, mismanagement, and financial irregularities.
Monitor changes in tax laws, financial regulations, and education sector policies to ensure ongoing compliance.
Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to manage potential financial, operational, and investment risks.
Ensure proper documentation and reporting of financial transactions to meet legal and regulatory requirements.
4. Revenue & Fee Management
Oversee tuition fee collection, invoicing, and payment tracking, ensuring timely payments from parents and guardians.
Develop and manage payment plans, discounts, and financial aid programmes, balancing affordability with financial sustainability.
Implement efficient billing and fee management systems to minimise errors and delays.
Develop strategies to enhance revenue generation while maintaining affordability for students.
Work closely with the Admissions and Marketing departments to align financial planning with student enrolment trends.
Maintain accurate and organised financial records of all transactions, including student fees, sponsorships, and grants.
5. Finance Team Leadership & Development
Supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
Assign roles and responsibilities within the finance department to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Conduct regular training and development programmes to enhance team members’ financial knowledge and skills.
Foster a collaborative and ethical work culture, promoting transparency and integrity in all financial matters.
Work closely with academic and administrative teams to support financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
6. Strategic Financial Planning & Growth
Develop and implement long-term financial strategies that support the school’s sustainability and growth.
Lead financial planning for school expansion, infrastructure projects, and capital investments.
Evaluate potential investment opportunities and partnerships to optimise financial performance.
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising the quality of education and services.
Provide financial projections and business models to support leadership in decision- making for future growth.
Monitor economic trends and market conditions that may impact the school financial position and recommend appropriate actions.
