Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing Accounts Department/Team functions and activities.
- Supervise daily accounting functions and monthly closing activities, including preparation and processing of month-end journals to ensure timely closing and accuracy of reports/transactions.
- Ensure prompt collection of accounts receivable and completion of periodic bank reconciliations.
- Ensure timely payment of accounts payable and that all reasonable discounts are taken.
- Make required debt payments on time.
- Oversee the production of periodic financial reports, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
- Ensure timely submission of financial reports to CFO and JV partners.
- Maintain proper records, documents, and filing to support all accounting entries.
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures to ensure the completeness and accuracy of monthly financial reporting.
- Implement process improvements and adopt best systems practices.
- Assist in developing and implementing proper accounting systems and internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Manage corporate direct and indirect tax functions, including timely applications, renewals, filings, and payments.
- Handle the company's annual tax return and tax planning activities.
- Prepare tax schedules and ensure timely submission of tax returns and estimates.
- Manage bi-monthly SST reconciliation and submissions to RMCD.
- Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary information for statutory audits.
- Coordinate audit activities and the preparation of statutory financial statements.
- Oversee annual stock take activities.
- Liaise with banks, company secretaries, tax agents, external auditors, government authorities, and professional advisors.
- Recruit, hire, and evaluate accounting and financial staff; coordinate training programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by superiors.

- Skills and knowledge advantageous for candidates include management accounting, product-level margin analysis, financial analysis, and expenditure monitoring.
- Provide recommendations on financial objectives and policies, capital investments, pricing, and contract negotiations.
- Calculate and report financial and operational metrics, variances, and conduct detailed financial analysis and reporting.
- Prepare budgets and forecasts, monitor and report quarterly, ensuring sound assumptions aligned with management expectations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, including supervisory roles.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as SQL Accounting Software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience in an accounting/audit firm is preferred.
- Membership in ACCA/CIMA is an advantage.
