Lead and oversee the cost accounting function, ensuring accurate allocation of costs across departments and products. Maintain cost systems and provide timely cost reports.
Analyze cost trends, identify variances, and provide actionable insights to management. Work with operational teams to optimize cost efficiency and reduce waste.
Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Conduct regular reviews to assess performance against budget.
Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper cost accounting procedures are followed. Coordinate with supply chain and operations teams to ensure accurate valuation of inventory.
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports, highlighting key financial trends and insights. Provide financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
Ensure compliance with financial policies, accounting standards, and regulations. Support internal and external audits as needed, ensuring accuracy and completeness of cost-related records.
Continuously evaluate and improve cost accounting processes and systems to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and productivity.
Work closely with other departments (e.g., operations, procurement, sales) to gather necessary data for cost reporting and analysis. Provide financial expertise to support business decisions and strategies.
Lead and mentor junior accounting staff, providing training and support in cost accounting principles and best practices.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, with at least 3 years in cost accounting or a related role.
Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
Proficiency in financial software (ERP systems, Excel, and other accounting tools).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong leadership abilities and experience managing teams.
