Our mission is to spread joy for pets and their owners worldwide. We’re seeking a dynamic Finance Manager to lead our financial strategy and drive our global growth.

This is an ideal role for an accountant that wishes to join an entrepreneurial organization with responsibilities in setting up accounting frameworks together with business and technology teams, and train accounting juniors to ensure speedy execution.

The Opportunity:

As our Finance Manager, you’ll be the financial heartbeat of our high-energy start-up, driving our accounting function across four core markets. This role is your chance to shape the future of a fast-growing company in the booming pet sector, applying your financial acumen to help the business team make key business decisions, ensuring we take calculated risks. You’ll also take charge of key HR functions, including making compensation and bonus recommendations based on performance, ensuring we hit our financial targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory & Cash Flow Management: We operate daily in the purchase and sale of perishable pet products. You will help monitor procurement and other spending limits set on the business team, track cash conversion cycles of inventory and work closely with the business team on ensuring inventory turn is healthy.

Financial Operations: You will lead junior finance team members to ensure seamless accounting processes, including data entry, bookkeeping, and multi-currency bank reconciliations, as well as consolidated reporting, delivering timely financial records to fuel our decision making.

Financial Planning & Analysis: You will conduct analysis on key metrics of our business across all 3 financial statements, including margin analysis, cash conversion cycles, and use this to shape internal controls

Compliance: Oversee tax & audit preparation and ensure compliance with local regulations in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and the UK, collaborating with experts to stay ahead.

Utilize Accounting Software: Leverage tools like Xero or Quickbooks, e-Commerce software such as SiteGiant or BigSeller, as well as internally developed dashboards to generate real-time insights.

Lead HR Functions: Suggest bonus policies, as well as oversee payroll processing and leave management, ensuring accurate, timely execution and compliance with local labor regulations across our markets.

Qualifications & Experience:

At least 5+ years in financial or management accounting, with a majority of such experience working on businesses dealing in perishable inventory.

Experience in accounting for e-commerce businesses. Platforms include: Shopee, Lazada, TikTok.

Experience in QuickBooks, E-Commerce software such as SiteGiant or Bigseller a huge plus.

Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, using vlookup, pivot tables, and charts to unlock insights.

Experiencing working with tech teams in driving dashboard design to automate accounting workflows is a huge plus.

Fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin to connect across our diverse markets.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, graduating with academic excellence. You are CPA or ACCA accredited.

You have experience or familiarity with payroll and leave management.
