Job summary

A leading company in Malaysia seeks a Finance Manager to oversee financial operations and lead a team of finance executives. This role involves managing financial statement preparations, auditing, compliance, and budgeting alongside process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in finance and at least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the retail sector.

Qualifications

Job description

· Overseeing a team of finance executives’ key deliverables, you are responsible for the preparation, examination, and analysis of variances, and consolidation of financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and internal procedural standards.

· Responsible for the finalization of statutory auditing, tax returns, ensuring compliance and corporate tax payment, reporting, and other secretarial and tax requirements (direct and indirect tax).

· Responsible for business operations analytics, trends, and other financial-related functions for ad-hoc project planning and industrial research assignments.

· Involved in annual budget preparation and periodic forecasting (including cash flow).

· Involved in the development and implementation of recommendations for process and procedure improvements for finance and accounting systems, as well as internal controls.

· Liaise with external auditors, company secretaries, tax consultants, and other regulatory bodies.

· Overseeing daily collections and payment reconciliations, among other ad-hoc assignments, with the ability to direct subordinates in their daily work activities.

· Other ad hoc duties/tasks assigned from time to time.

JOB SPECIFICATION:

You are/have:

· Able to lead and motivate your team, set objectives and priorities, and manage resources effectively.

· Possess a deep understanding of financial analysis, financial planning, and accounting principles.

· Able to identify and solve problems proactively regarding financial issues.

· Adaptable and capable of managing change, as the financial landscape is constantly evolving.

· Neat, pleasant, articulate, and in good health.

· Meticulous and diligent.

· A fast learner with initiative-taking traits.

Languages: Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and verbal). Fluent in Mandarin is a plus.

Education: Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A member of any professional body; ACCA, MIA, CPA, or CIMA.

Work Experience: Minimum 5 to 7 years of proven work experience, preferably in the retail industry. At least one year in a managerial role.

Technical skills:

· Excellent knowledge of the ERP system (i.e., Dynamics 365 Business Central).

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. is a MUST.

· Good knowledge of a retail POS system.
