Job description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Finance Manager. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the day-to-day function of the finance team, school-wide budgeting and reporting, a key role in the operation and development of the school. Working closely with the other admin departments and the academic leadership team, you will help to ensure the school’s continued successful business development and high-quality education provision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Lead the finance team and collaborate effectively with other administrative departments and the academic leadership team.
  2. Oversee school finance operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, strategic planning, and compliance with all statutory bodies.
  3. Provide critical financial insight and advice to the leadership and governance teams.
  4. Oversee the operation and monitoring of school accounts and budgets, ensuring the safe receipt and handling of cash and the reconciliation of transactions.
  5. Complete administrative routines relating to orders, invoices, cheques, income, the receipt and distribution of goods and services.
  6. Manage and oversee credit control, ensuring timely collection of outstanding fees, monitoring debtor balances, and implementing effective credit policies to minimize financial risk.
  7. Review monthly accounts prepared by the Accounts Executive.
  8. Review monthly, quarterly, and yearly management/financial reports.
  9. Prepare yearly budgets and revised forecasts for the school.
  10. Prepare reports for board meetings on the financial performance of the school.
  11. Responsible for annual financial audits and drafting annual Audited Financial Reports.
  12. Handle tax estimations and annual corporate tax submissions.
  13. Liaise with bankers, auditors, tax agents, and statutory departments on financial matters.
  14. Monitor cash flow effectively.
  15. Develop and establish internal controls on each finance process.
  16. Oversee daily finance operations, including cash collection, invoicing, payments to vendors/staff, student refunds, fixed assets monitoring, and record keeping of contracts and agreements.
  17. Lead the implementation and setup of financial technology solutions for current or future systems adopted by the school.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in ACCA, CIMA, CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar financial leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, auditing principles, and reporting standards.
  • Experience in the educational environment is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Able to multitask, work independently, and under pressure.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management abilities.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to drive financial initiatives aligned with organizational objectives.
