Finance Executive – Join Wasco Thermal Sdn Bhd!

About the role
We are seeking a talented Finance Executive to join our dynamic team at Wasco Thermal Sdn Bhd in Shah Alam, Selangor. As a full-time position, this role will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable processes and ensuring efficient financial operations.

What you'll be doing

• Manage Daily Accounts Payable Operations
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the account payable function to ensure smooth and efficient processing of financial transactions
• Maintain accurate records of all payable transactions, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with company policies and procedures

2. Invoice Processing and Recording

• Verify and process supplier invoices, ensuring that all relevant supporting documents are complete and comply with financial policies
• Accurate record invoices in the accounting system in a timely manner to reflect up-to-date financial data
• Resolve discrepancies or disputes related to invoices by liaising with internal departments and external vendors

3. Payment Processing

• Prepare and process payments to vendors and suppliers in accordance with agreed payment terms
• Ensure payments are made accurately and on time, while adhering to internal approval workflows and company policies
• Monitor outstanding payables and proactively follow up due payments to maintain good supplier relationships and avoid penalties
• Perform monthly reconciliation of supplier statements with accounting records to ensure all transactions are recorded correctly
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in creditor accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records

5. Financial Reporting and Compliance

• Compile, analyze, and provide financial data related to accounts payable for management reporting and decision-making purposes
• Assist in preparing financial statements and reports as required
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements

6. Process Improvement and Support

• Identify and recommend improvements to account payable processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to accounts payable
• Collaborate with other finance team members and departments to streamline financial operations and ensure best practices are followed

What we're looking for

• Minimum 2 - 3 years' experience in an accounts payable or finance executive role
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial best practices, tax and/or treasury
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in using financial software and Microsoft Office applications
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders
• A team player with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
