Finance Director (Manufacturing/Construction)

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Director to oversee all financial aspects for our client in the building construction space.

The ideal candidate will lead financial planning, manage financial risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and support operational efficiency to drive sustainable business growth.

This role requires a strong understanding of construction industry financial practices, project-based accounting, and capital expenditure management.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Financial Planning: Develop and implement financial strategies to support business objectives and long-term growth.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and performance analysis across projects and departments.
  • Project Accounting: Oversee project-based accounting practices, ensuring accurate cost tracking, margin analysis, and cash flow management.
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Cash Flow & Working Capital Management: Monitor and optimize cash flow, manage working capital requirements, and oversee relationships with banks and lenders.
  • Cost Control & Risk Management: Implement cost-saving initiatives, monitor operational expenditure, and identify financial risks and opportunities.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Audit: Ensure compliance with tax laws, statutory regulations, and internal controls; coordinate with external auditors.
  • Leadership & Team Management: Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture and professional development.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Present financial insights and recommendations to the executive team, board members, and investors.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred)
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven experience in the construction/real estate development/manufacturing sector
  • Strong knowledge of project costing, contract management, and construction finance regulations
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and ERP systems
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills
