Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee the company’s financial operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide strategic financial guidance to support business growth.

You will manage the full spectrum of finance and accounting functions, drive budgeting and forecasting, and lead a team of finance professionals. Strong knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations is essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess at least a recognised degree and/or professional qualification in accounting (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
• At least 8 years relevant working experience with a minimum 5 years in the managerial role position.
• Technically strong in accounting standards and system, internal control and taxation.
• Good business acumen and commercial awareness
• Hands-on, analytical, and detail-oriented
• A team player with high level of integrity, meticulous and proven analytical problem-solving skills.
• Mature, self-motivated and able to work independently with good interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full spectrum of finance and accounting functions including financial reporting, financial planning, budgetary controls.
• Develop, improve and monitor internal control policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Timely month-end closing and preparation of management reports and comprehensive analysis of financial results.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Ensure compliance with financial reporting standard, tax regulations, and statutory requirements
• Identify risks and implement measures to safeguard company assets
• Liaise with internal and external parties including tax agents, external auditors, lawyers, bankers, and authorities for approval and compliance.
• Supervise and mentor the finance/accounting team.
• Undertake adhoc duties or special projects assigned from time to time.
