Job summary

QBE Asia in Malaysia is seeking a Contingent Worker to support Accounts Receivable operations for Asia, focusing on receipting, bank reconciliations, and UC resolution. The role emphasizes internal controls, timely month-end close, and reporting.

The position is hybrid, based in Malaysia, with 3+ years in finance. You'll work with Finance and Business Unit staff, participate in audits, and contribute to process improvements and UAT for system changes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a finance or accounting role.
  • Strong skills in spreadsheets, data analysis and reconciliation procedures.
  • Problem solving skills and good communication skills.
  • Professional accounting qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate and timely receipting in accordance with service level expectations.
  • Reconcile bank statements and investigate discrepancies.
  • Monitor and resolve Unapplied/Unidentified Cash on a timely basis.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and audit requirements.
  • Support month-end closing activities and reporting requirements.
  • Assist with preparation of management reports and audit-related queries.
  • Maintain proper documentation of processes and ensure they are kept up to date.
  • Support system enhancements, projects, and process improvement initiatives related to Accounts Receivable.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT), including validation of system changes and ensuring outputs meet business and control requirements.
  • Ensure training and knowledge is up to date. This includes but is not limited to mainframe applications and general insurance accounting.
  • Establish and maintain an efficient, effective relationship between Finance and Business Unit Finance staff.
  • Support efforts to achieve compliance with financial regulations and meet compliance deadlines.
  • Ensure consistency between the management result and general ledger.
  • Ensure effective suite of reports provided to business enabling management to monitor business profitability.

Primary Details

Time Type: Full time Worker Type: Contingent Worker Responsible for supporting Accounts Receivable operations for Asia, with a focus on ensuring accurate and timely receipting, bank reconciliation, and Unapplied/Unidentified Cash (UC) resolution. The role ensures adherence to financial controls and service level expectations, contributes to cash flow management and management reporting, liaises with internal and external auditors, and supports operational efficiency across AR processes, ensuring outputs are in compliance with Company policies and Local Regulatory requirements.
