Job summary

Segi Fresh, Malaysia's fresh food retailer, is seeking a Financial Accountant to support daily operations and lead month-end and year-end activities with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.

You will review accounts, prepare management reports and perform variance analyses to guide decisions. The role includes budgeting, FP&A support, and close coordination with internal and external audits. Prior SAP/Excel proficiency required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or equivalent.
• ACCA/CPA/CIMA qualification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily finance operations and ensure timely month-end and year-end closing.
• Guide and coach finance team during month-end closing.
• Review accounts and perform detailed account analysis for revenue, costs and expenses.
• Prepare management reports, financial statements, variance analyses and performance reports.
• Perform financial modelling and scenario analysis for strategic decisions.
• Coordinate annual budgeting across departments.
• Monitor budget vs actuals and analyse variances.
• Provide recommendations to improve financial performance and cost efficiency.
• Maintain General Ledger and perform reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries including accruals, prepayments and intercompany.
• Ensure journal entries are authorized and posted within deadlines.
