Job summary

A leading company in Malaysia is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to oversee financial reporting, manage cash flow, and lead a finance team. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and possess strong leadership and accounting skills. Responsibilities include preparing management reports, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supervising finance staff. This role requires a detail-oriented individual capable of meeting deadlines while maintaining compliance with accounting standards.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years accounting/finance experience.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare weekly income reports for management meetings.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly account closing.
  • Manage banking relationships and oversee payments.
  • Supervise Finance Executive and Finance Assistant.

Job description

Prepare weekly income reports for CEO and management meetings

Prepare monthly reports for HOD meetings and quarterly reports for QSR meetings

Prepare full management accounts (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)

Support operations with ad-hoc financial reports and campaign analysis

Month-End & Compliance

Ensure timely and accurate monthly account closing

Review journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations

Review payment requests and ensure SOP compliance

Prepare and submit monthly e-invoice reports to LHDN

Coordinate audits and liaise with tax agents

Cash Flow Management

Manage banking relationships and oversee payments

Monitor cash flow for operations, distribution, and marketing costs

Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets

Team Management

Supervise Finance Executive and Finance Assistant

Mentor team members and review their work

Improve financial processes and workflows

Other Duties

Handle ad-hoc requests and analysis from CEO

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax laws

Requirements

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

2-3 years accounting/finance experience

Supervisory experience preferred

Professional qualification (ACCA/CPA) is advantage

Skills Required

Strong accounting knowledge

Proficiency in accounting software and Excel

Knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations

Good communication and leadership skills

Detail-oriented with ability to meet deadlines
