Job summary

A leading company is seeking an experienced accountant to manage the full set of accounts for a group of companies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing audits, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, have professional qualifications like ACCA or CIMA, and have excellent analytical and communication skills to thrive in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • At least 4-5 years of experience in full set of accounts.
  • Strong knowledge in budgeting and financial analysis.
  • Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full set of accounts including month-end closing and financial statements.
  • Prepare audit schedules and handle auditor relations during audits.

  • To assist in managing a Group of Companies’ full set of accounts
  • To perform month-end closings and prepare monthly financial statements
  • To assist in monitoring and reviewing departmental variance reports, bank and suppliers’ reconciliation
  • To assist in analyzing budget, cash flow, project analysis and other related analysis
  • To assist in preparing management reports, ensuring its consistency, accuracy and timely reporting
  • To prepare audit schedule and manage the auditors during annual audits
  • To work with the team in maintaining the accounting system
  • To ensure all petty cash transactions are recorded properly
  • To assist in the submission of related taxes to the Customs Department of Malaysia
  • To ensure the compliance with the local regulations and requirements as well as with Accounting Standards
  • To review the monthly reconciliation & reports prepared by subordinates to ensure accuracy
  • To assist in verifying payments & invoices to ensure completeness & accuracy of the documents
  • To monitor cash reserves and ensure sufficient cash in hand to support daily expenses
  • To assist in handling office administrative duties
  • To assist and perform all ad-hoc assignment as and when assigned
WE WANT SOMEONE WHO:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or its equivalent
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA is advantageous
  • Registered member of the Malaysian Institute of Accounting (MIA) is desirable
  • Knowledge in Accounting software
  • At least 4-5 years of experience in full set of accounts (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables and General Ledger)
  • Strong knowledge in budgeting and financial analysis
  • Proficient in data analysis
  • A team player with the ability to manage a team and work across all levels within the organization
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with a high level of proficiency in verbal and written English and Bahasa Malaysia
  • Good analytical skills, result oriented, organized, detailed and committed to deadlines
  • Action oriented, innovative and resourceful with the ability to work independently in a dynamic & fast paced environment
  • Possess problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Computer literate with knowledge in MS Office applications
