A leading company in the beverages sector seeks an experienced Accountant. The role encompasses managing all finance functions, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and providing insightful financial reporting. We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Accountant to join our team. This role is responsible for the full spectrum of finance and accounting functions, business support, and team leadership. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, independent, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Manage the full set of accounts and ensure accurate month-end and year-end closing.
Prepare timely financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
Oversee daily finance operations: AP/AR, costing, budgeting, credit control, and taxation.
Liaise with auditors, tax agents, banks, company secretary, and statutory bodies (IRB, EPF, etc.).
Ensure compliance with Malaysian tax regulations, including SST and income tax filings.
Maintain proper financial documentation and records.
Provide financial insights and reporting to support business decisions.
Prepare financial forecasts, cash flow analysis, and profitability reports.
Support management in business planning, budgeting, and pricing strategies.
Participate in board/management reporting and business reviews.
Review and enhance internal control systems and accounting procedures.
Work with management to implement or optimize accounting and ERP systems.
Drive automation and process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency.
Lead monthly and annual stock take processes; reconcile variances between system and physical stock.
Coordinate with the purchasing team to manage stock valuation and cost of goods sold (COGS).
Oversee full payroll process and statutory submissions (SOCSO, EPF, PCB).
Ensure compliance with HR-related financial policies and maintain confidentiality.
Lead and mentor the Finance team to ensure smooth operations.
Collaborate with sales, HR, and operations to align financial processes with business needs.
Possess a professional qualification: ACCA, CIMA, LCCI, CAT, or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in retail, wholesale, or distribution sectors.
Proficient in managing full set of accounts.
Familiar with SQL Accounting and SQL Payroll software.
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
Able to start work immediately or on short notice is an added advantage.
