Position Title: Finance & Accounting Manager

Job Description

The Finance & Accounting Manager will oversee all financial operations, including daily accounting, monthly closing, budgeting, and cash flow management. This role is especially important in a retail environment, requiring close monitoring of sales, inventory, and store-level profitability. The manager will also coordinate with external accounting consultants for tax compliance and ensure accurate financial reporting to senior management and headquarters in Japan.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage accounting operations including sales, purchases, inventory, and expenses
2. Oversee monthly and annual closing and prepare financial statements
3. Monitor store-level budgets and control costs
4. Manage cash flow and forecast funding needs
5. Coordinate with external accountants for tax filing (SST, corporate tax)
6. Prepare financial reports for management and Japan HQ
7. Strengthen internal controls and manage financial risks

Salary: 8000~10000 (RM)

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in finance and accounting
• Solid understanding of Malaysian accounting standards and tax regulations
• Experience in leading monthly and annual closing
• Business-level English proficiency (Japanese language is a plus)
• Experience working with external consultants (accounting or tax firms)

Preferred:

• Experience in the retail industry or managing financials across multiple outlets
• Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CIMA
• Business-level Japanese communication skills is preferred
• Experience with ERP or cloud accounting systems (e.g., SQL, SAP, Xero)
