Job summary

Century Supply Chain Solutions is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the Manager, Finance & Accounting in overseeing daily accounting operations and resolving finance matters in a dynamic Malaysia-based team. You will manage full set accounts, supervise junior staff, ensure IFRS/MFRS compliance, and coordinate audits, budgets, and statutory reporting to Malaysia requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field. MIA membership or professional accounting qualification will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with exposure to full set accounts, month-end closing, audit, tax, and reporting.
• Experience in a senior accountant, team lead, or supervisory role will be an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of IFRS/MFRS, SST, WHT, corporate tax, and basic internal control requirements.
• Experience with SAP Business One, Microsoft Excel, and e-invoicing will be an added advantage.
• Able to communicate in English and work with local and regional teams, including Hong Kong or overseas stakeholders.
• Hands-on, proactive, detail-oriented, trustworthy, and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Able to meet tight deadlines, especially during month-end closing and reporting periods.
• Strong ownership and accountability in handling finance matters.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to follow up until matters are resolved.
• Comfortable working in a developing finance setup and improving processes as the business grows.
• Able to support both operational and reporting requirements in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Manager, Finance & Accounting in overseeing daily accounting operations and resolving finance/accounting matters.
• Act as the main backup to the Manager, Finance & Accounting and provide guidance to junior accounting team members when required.
• Handle full set accounts, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, accruals, prepayments, and month-end schedules.
• Handle accounting entries and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately, completely, and on a timely basis.
• Handle data integration between operating and accounting systems and perform reconciliation as required.
• Monitor accounts receivables, collection progress, customer aging, and follow-up actions with the relevant team.
• Handle intercompany related matters, including recharge, agreements, settlement, and monthly reconciliation.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules for Malaysia reporting requirements.
• Support statutory reporting under IFRS/MFRS and group reporting requirements, including US GAAP where applicable.
• Prepare cash flow analysis, bank reconciliation, and cash flow projections to support management review.
• Assist in annual budget and forecast preparation, including variance analysis and supporting schedules.
• Coordinate annual statutory audit, group audit, tax audit, and liaise with auditors, tax agents, company secretary, bankers, and internal stakeholders.
• Assist with tax compliance matters, including SST, WHT, corporate tax filing, e-invoicing, and other regulatory submissions.
• Ensure compliance with internal control policies and procedures to strengthen corporate governance and reduce operational risk.
• Support finance projects, system implementation or enhancement, process improvement, and other ad hoc tasks assigned by management.
