A fitness equipment company is seeking a Field Technician to provide technical support and maintenance for fitness equipment. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing equipment, conducting preventive maintenance, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate has relevant technical experience and strong problem-solving skills. This role requires travel and the ability to work independently.
JOB PURPOSE
To ensure the optimal performance, safety, and reliability of fitness equipment by providing efficient on-site technical support, preventive maintenance, and timely repairs. The Field Technician plays a critical role in delivering excellent after-sales service, enhancing customer satisfaction, and supporting the Company’s commitment to high service standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Equipment Repair & Troubleshooting
Diagnose and repair fitness/gym equipment with mechanical, electrical, or software-related faults. Replace defective parts and ensure full functionality is restored.
2.Preventive Maintenance
Conduct regular servicing, including cleaning, lubricating, calibrating, and adjusting components to ensure optimal performance and equipment longevity.
3.Safety Inspections
Perform safety checks to identify hazards and ensure all equipment complies with relevant safety standards and operational guidelines.
4.Field Service Visits
Carry out on-site service assignments according to the job schedule. Ensure timely response to service requests and job completions.
5.Service Reporting
Prepare accurate service reports after each visit and update customer records through internal systems or service apps.
6.Customer Support
Liaise with customers professionally, ensuring satisfaction and proper follow-up on any outstanding technical issues.
7.Coordination
Work closely with the Customer Service/Admin team regarding spare part arrangements, service documentation, and job completion confirmation.
8.Installation Support
Assist the installer team during equipment setup to ensure proper installation, configuration, and handover.
9.Continuous Learning
Stay updated with the latest technologies, models, and procedures related to fitness equipment. Attend technical training as required.
10.Other Duties
Manage any ad-hoc tasks assigned by superiors in support of department goals.
Requirements:
·Minimum SPM or equivalent.
·Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is an advantage.
·Minimum 1–2 years of experience in technical field servicing or equipment support.
·Ability to interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
·Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, customer-first mindset.
·Good communication and interpersonal skills.
·Valid driving license.
·Physically fit and capable of handling heavy equipment.
·Willing to travel and able to work independently.
·Basic computer literacy (email, service reporting apps).
Preferred:
·Experience servicing fitness/gym equipment.
·Familiarity with preventive maintenance software or service platforms.
