Job description

Overview

As Field Service/Informatics Engineer, you are an ambassador of Waters and will be responsible for achieving high levels of customer satisfaction in the field of Waters equipment and services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining systems including liquid chromatography and Mass Spectrometry systems. The role will be field based with the engineer’s home location being Malaysia - preference will be given for candidates based in Klang Valley. The role will demand interstate travel sometimes at short notice.

Responsibilities
  1. Installation, performance maintenance, troubleshoot and support Waters' product suite (LC, LC/MS, HPLC/UPLC, SFC, Informatics)
  2. Establish and maintain effective relationships with external and internal customers ensuring their success
  3. Manage customer expectations, by communicating work performed and providing follow up plan if needed
  4. Ensure customer compliance regulations are followed
  5. Deliver system level training at customer sites
  6. Manage service inventory according to Waters policies
  7. Issue field service reports daily to document work performed
  8. Maintain sound knowledge regarding the technology and customers' application demands
  9. Work with Sales team in respect to identifying future business development opportunities
  10. Ensure that quality system procedures and Health & Safety standards are adhered to at all times
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelors/master’s degree in chemistry or Biology, engineering, computer science or other science related field is desired, will also consider applications with equivalent experience, training and education
  • Experience:
    • Prefer but not required to have 1-year experience with installation, performance maintenance, troubleshooting, support and/or end user utilization of scientific instrumentation, preference for previous Waters product suite (LC, LC/MS, HPLC/UPLC, SFC, Informatics)
    • Prefer but not required to have experience working in Networked Environment, skillsets in server management
    • Fresh graduates are strongly encouraged to apply. Extensive training will be provided
    • Keen interest to work in challenging and dynamic environment with steep learning curve.
