Job description

Responsible to oversee laboratory management, quality control system, analyzing and reporting on test results. Provide support to field inspection and safety measures as set by the company.

Key Responsibilities

• To ensure timeliness and accuracy to meet turnaround time and that the daily test result is produced accurately and precisely.
• Adhere to group HSE safety procedures.
• Ensure that the information from the clients is kept as strictly confidential and never revealed to the third party.
• Ensure compliance to testing and QA/QC procedures.
• Ensure all analytical equipment, apparatus etc. are to be appropriately maintained and calibrated as per the required schedule.
• To supervise and ensure competency of the lab technician.
• To train, supervise and monitor junior staff with assigned test methods and procedures.
• To ensure all the standard methods are up to date or the latest version.
• To ensure all controlled quality procedures, test methods and document are kept confidentially and restricted within business premise.
• Ensure Good Housekeeping and Good Laboratory practice in the laboratory.
• Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by his/her superior.

Qualifications, Experience and Technical Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field from recognizes university/college
• Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in relevant analytical laboratory
• Possess valid license from IKM as Registered Chemist.
• Good laboratory and analytical skill
• Solving quantitative problems
• Good knowledge of using laboratory equipment
• Has strong commercial awareness , understand business and customer expectations .
• Have excellent communication skills, both in written and spoken English
