Job description
Job Description

Our client, a leading global brand in the lifestyle and sportswear industry, is seeking a detail-oriented and trend-savvy Fashion Merchandiser to join their product management team. This role will oversee end-to-end category management — from market analysis and product planning to sample coordination and production scheduling — with a strong focus on Southeast Asian markets.

The ideal candidate will have experience in product merchandising, a strong understanding of fashion trends, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with regional teams, factories, and marketing divisions.

Job Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of specific fashion categories, managing the full product lifecycle including planning, branding, line-up structuring, and production coordination.
  • Conduct market research and trend forecasting through sales analysis, competitive reviews, and internal brainstorming.
  • Allocate product assortments across Southeast Asian markets with consideration for market tiering and regional preferences.
  • Manage order placements with manufacturing partners, including adjustments to quantities and aligning on delivery schedules.
  • Oversee the sample management process by identifying sample needs for events such as conventions and photoshoots.
  • Review product samples and provide feedback or suggestions for design and quality improvements.
  • Coordinate with cross-border teams to manage sample logistics — from timely delivery and display to storage and disposal — for marketing and sales events.
  • Prepare and present product collections at regional buying conventions.
  • Communicate the brand’s strategy and detailed product selling points to buyers in markets such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Taiwan.
  • Develop the item line-up strategy, including SKU count management, branding alignment, and product tiering.
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing division on seasonal concepts, visual direction, and photoshoot coordination.
  • Monitor mass production orders and ensure product delivery schedules are met.
  • Address and resolve conflicts between factory constraints and wholesale buyer expectations.
  • Efficiently adapt to the company’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
  • Help streamline and digitalize work processes to improve operational efficiency.
Job Requirements
  • 4–5 years of experience in fashion merchandising, product development, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manage and analyze large item lists.
  • Knowledge of current fashion trends, with the ability to anticipate market shifts.
  • Previous experience in the fashion or retail industry is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in both written and verbal English.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is required due to coordination with manufacturing and regional teams.
