The Fashion Designer is responsible for creating and developing the brand’s fashion collections. This role involves designing attractive, market-ready garments that reflect the company’s vision and meet customer needs. The designer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution from concept to final product while staying updated with fashion trends.
Responsibilities
- 1. Design Development: Create sketches, technical drawings, and detailed design documentation for collections.
- 2. Garment Construction: Develop technical specifications and garment patterns. Work with sourcing and production teams to create accurate samples. Conduct fittings and make necessary adjustments to achieve the desired fit and quality. Solve technical issues to ensure smooth production.
- 3. Quality Control: Monitor production to ensure garments meet brand standards. Check garment fit, fabric quality, and finishing. Perform final quality checks before product launch. Work closely with merchandisers, buyers, sourcing, and production teams. Communicate effectively with suppliers and manufacturers. Provide guidance to team members when required.
- 5. Market Research: Keep updated on global fashion trends and consumer preferences. Research competitors’ collections and new fabric innovations. Support in forecasting and planning for future collections.
- 6. Adaptability & Innovation: Adjust designs based on changes in market needs or timelines. Suggest innovative ideas and solutions during design and production. Ensure timely delivery of final products.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or Degree in Fashion Design or related field.
- Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience in fashion design or production.
- Strong knowledge of textiles, garment construction, and manufacturing.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other design tools.
- Creative with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of global fashion trends.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
