Job summary

HP in Malaysia seeks an Engineering leader to drive smart manufacturing initiatives and collaborate with Operations, Process, Factory System, NPI, and Product Engineering, plus external System Integrators to design and execute tooling automation projects.

This role oversees CAPEX procurement, provides technical leadership, and advances Industry 4.0 solutions to build a resilient Smart Factory, with travel to partner and supplier sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and spearhead tooling automation projects for NPI, POR, and resilience.
• Oversee CAPEX procurement for tooling and automation with procurement team.
• Provide technical and quality leadership with external System Integrators; manage risks and continuity plans.
• Assess manufacturing processes to identify automation opportunities and Industry 4.0 adoption.
• Develop comprehensive project management plans from initiation to completion, including cash flow tracking.
• Manage installation, integration, and validation of tooling with compliance to HP safety and standards.
• Maintain detailed project documentation and reports.

Job description

• Lead and spearhead smart manufacturing initiatives by collaborating with internal teams (Operations, Process, Factory System, NPI, and Product Engineering) as well as external System Integrators. This entails conceptualizing, designing, and executing tooling automation projects to support NPI efforts, POR projects and enhance business resilience strategies.
• Directly engage with the procurement team to oversee the acquisition of capital expenditures (CAPEX) related to tooling and automation projects.
• Take ownership of technical and quality leadership in partnerships with external System Integrators, overseeing project technical risks and continuity plans.
• Evaluate manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements while continuously seeking innovative approaches to integrate advancements in Industry 4.0 manufacturing solutions, fostering the development of a Smart Factory environment.
• Develop thorough project management plans from initiation to completion, includes contingency measures to ensure the successful achievement of project objectives within defined schedule and cost. This involves establishing and monitoring project cash flow commitments.
• Manage the installation, integration, and validation of tooling into existing manufacturing systems, ensure that the tools meet the project scope and test plans, while complies to HP safety regulatory and industry standards.
• Maintain detailed project documentation, including technical specifications, testing protocols, and project reports.

Are you a high performer? We are looking for an individual with:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a technology or manufacturing-related engineering discipline or equivalent; accompanied by outstanding skills in project management, technical leadership, problem-solving and analytics. PMI PMP certified is a plus.
• Knowledge in smart manufacturing, smart technologies, automation system and manufacturing processes fundamentals, with keen interest in equipment design and technologies.
• Great team player, demonstrates excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
• Able to lead and work with cross functional teams across multiple geographies and time zones.
• Takes initiatives, is enthusiastic, resourceful, and flexible.
• Willing to travel to Manufacturing Partner Sites, System Integrators, and supplier sites
