As a Facilities Engineer, you will primarily provide all aspects of facility engineering management. Problem solving is a key function of the position.
You Will Make an Impact By:
- Providing technical support during the factory building construction phase, with close coordination on progress, reporting, and addressing any issues that arise.
- Supporting activities related to the factory startup program.
- Managing daily operations and maintenance of various utility systems, including Compressed Dried Air, Cooling Tower, Chiller, Heat Recovery Hot Water System, Plant Wide Air Conditioning System, Cooling/Chilled Water System, City Water Supply, Fire Protection System, and gases, including upgrades and improvements.
- Identifying parameters to trend in BMS data and analyzing data to improve reliability and efficiency of critical equipment or processes.
- Planning and supervising preventive and predictive maintenance programs, troubleshooting, and implementing corrective actions.
- Managing contractors and ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
- Liaising with local authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance of utilities equipment and services.
- Supporting major activities like annual shutdowns and overhauls.
- Assisting the Senior Facility Manager with daily oversight of building programs, focusing on safety, efficiency, reliability, and maintainability.
- Providing operational support for manufacturing plant issues and projects.
- Working with building management and control systems, particularly gas detection systems.
- Managing preventive maintenance using CMMS software.
- Monitoring utilities for maintenance and cost control in support of ESG initiatives.
- Maintaining monthly PM reports and KPI data analytics.
- Building partnerships with vendors, service providers, and contractors, ensuring cost-effective methods.
- Researching and implementing new technologies for operational improvements.
- Overseeing facility projects, budgets, and contractors, with knowledge of building and life safety codes, including gas detection and building management systems.
- Supporting vendor management, procurement processes, invoices, and payments.
- Assisting with space planning, moves, and facility expansion projects.
- Preparing reports on site metrics, project progress, and issues.
Typical Duties
- Providing technical support during construction phases.
- Utilizing data analytics for operational insights.
- Conducting reviews of mechanical and building systems, including fieldwork and site visits.
- Investigating and resolving facility problems, suggesting improvements.
- Addressing energy, mechanical, and infrastructure issues with solutions.
- Collaborating with team members, engineers, and operations staff.
Skills You Bring:
- BA/BS in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Over 5 years of facilities engineering and operations experience.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, UPS, electrical, mechanical, HVAC.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience with instrumentation, design, installation, and startup is a plus.
- Experience with AutoCAD and EH&S is advantageous.
- Experience in factory startup is a plus.
- Ability to respond during emergency events.
- Leadership skills and project management experience.
