A leading company in IT infrastructure solutions is looking for a Facilities Technician to operate, inspect, and maintain high-voltage equipment. Ideal candidates should have relevant certifications and experience in electrical maintenance, with strong troubleshooting skills. High-Voltage Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate, inspect, and maintain high-voltage equipment such as 33kV switchgear, transformers, and main distribution boards.
Electrical Fault Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and repair faults in the electrical distribution system, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Routine Testing & Servicing: Conduct routine testing, maintenance, and servicing protection relays, circuit breakers, UPS, and generators.
Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission) regulations and the Electricity Supply Act 1990.
Technical Documentation: Record and maintain accurate electrical logbooks, inspection reports, and statutory documentation.
Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with TNB, contractors, and regulatory authorities during system audits, shutdowns, and maintenance activities.
Support energy efficiency initiatives and power quality improvement projects.
Skills that will help you succeed:
It is preferable for candidates to have valid Chargemen with BO-2 level certification or above issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga, but candidate with a related certification will also be considered.
Candidate possess SPM with credits in Mathematics and Science or Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is an advantage
Ideally the candidate have around 3 year of experience in electrical maintenance with hands-on knowledge of high-voltage systems.
Familiarity with building systems maintenance, fire safety equipment, and preventive maintenance programs.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings is a plus.
Willingness to work in shifts and respond to emergency call-outs.
Strong troubleshooting skills and understanding of OSHA, MS IEC 60364, and facility safety standards.
