Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Supervisor to join our team in Malaysia. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of safety protocols and regulations, strong leadership abilities, and experience in ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in semiconductor manufacturing environments and/or working under integrated facility management service providers. The Safety Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining a safe and compliant workplace by enforcing safety practices and conducting ongoing risk assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Inspections & Audits: Perform regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations.
- Risk Management: Identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective actions in a timely manner. Regularly conduct risk assessments and ensure proper hazard control measures are in place.
- Safety Training & Education: Develop, coordinate, and deliver safety training programs for employees to ensure a thorough understanding of workplace safety practices.
- Incident Investigation & Reporting: Lead investigations of workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses. Prepare reports, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Emergency Procedures: Ensure that emergency response plans and procedures are effectively in place and regularly practiced by all staff.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant safety laws and regulations, including those enforced by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) and other regulatory bodies.
- Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate safety records, including incident logs, inspection reports, and safety meeting minutes. Provide regular reports to management on safety performance.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Ensure that PPE is correctly provided, maintained, and used by all employees in accordance with safety standards.
- Promote Safety Culture: Foster a culture of safety throughout the organization, encouraging employees to raise safety concerns and continuously improve safety practices.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Minimum of a relevant certificate/diploma
- Certification:
- Yellow Book or SSS (Site Safety Supervisor) certification from DOSH is required.
- Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in safety management or supervision.
- Experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience working in integrated facility management services is advantageous.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards, especially those enforced by DOSH and OSHA.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments, implement safety improvements, and handle incident investigations.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple safety projects.
- Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform site inspections in various working environments, including those requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
