Job summary

Western Digital in Malaysia on-site is seeking a Facilities Mechanical Engineer to lead the operation and maintenance of HVAC and mechanical systems across multiple plants. You will manage capacity, design changes, and improvements for reliability, safety, and cost optimization, while ensuring compliance with local regulations and IMS standards.

You will supervise contractors, coordinate major shutdowns, and support after-hours needs.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• PMP or FMP certification would be an advantage.
• 5 to 10 years experience in facilities related field in semiconductor/electronic industries.
• Ability to lead and manage HVAC and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead operation, system monitoring and repair maintenance of HVAC and mechanical systems.
• Review operating data to optimize facilities operating system.

Facilities Mechanical Engineer with Western Digital. Lead, manage and take ownership on the overall operational health of the HVAC and Mechanical system Maintain, operate all HVAC systems and associated equipment, plumbing systems, building management system, and equipment repairs Manage capacity and design changes according to the requirements from manufacturing/customers Conduct and execute facility system improvements on reliability hardening, safety performance as well as cost optimization and reduction Perform facility inspections and report on condition affecting operations. Monitor and supervise HVAC preventive maintenance outsource service contracts Maintain compliance to local city and state government requirement and overall country legal legislation, ordinances and codes of practices. Liaison with relevant local government agencies and contractors Engage and liaison with consultants on mechanical system design and construction. Respond to emergencies. Comply with all safety procedures, practices and requirements Support any afterhours building needs and activities as required Attend training sessions and seminars and other assigned tasks as requested. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To establish the operation procedure, system monitoring & repair maintenance of responsible sections. To review & analyze the operating data to optimize the Facilities operating system To support production / manufacturing needs and request To team up with all the facilities peers & contractors in troubleshooting the Facilities system To identified & drive the cost saving & improvement program To supervise contractor engineer and technician, routine job to ensure the HVAC & Mechanical system supporting production comply to specification and government regulation Manage Mechanical System for multiple Plants. To plan, organize, execute & control for the specific project To ensure compliance to IMS requirement, Contamination Control, 5S & Safety To liaise with contractor, consultant on the facilities related matters To coordinate the major plan shutdown maintenance To carry out special task as assigned by supervisor To support the activities to the company needs REQUIRED: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. PMP (project management professional) or FMP (facility management professional) would be an advantage. 5 to 10 years working experience in the facilities related field in semiconductor or electronic or related industries Able to demonstrate the necessary competency in leadership, management and HVAC technical know how.
