A Facilities Manager performs many maintenance, safety, and management tasks that promote a clean and safe working environment for the building’s employees, which includes:

1. Delegating cleaning and maintenance tasks to team members
2. Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots, and outdoor recreation spaces
3. Performing routine maintenance on facilities and making repairs as needed
4. Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors
5. Ensuring proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors or a team of security professionals
6. Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders
7. Forecasting, allocating, and supervising the financial and physical resources of the facility management
8. Planning and coordinating all installations (telecommunications, heat, electricity, etc.) and refurbishments
9. Managing the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards
10. Inspecting buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations
11. Reviewing utilities consumption and striving to minimize costs
12. Supervising all facilities staff (custodians, technicians, groundskeepers, etc.) and external contractors
13. Controlling activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security, etc.
14. Handling insurance plans and service contracts
15. Documenting and safekeeping financial and non-financial records
16. Performing analysis and forecasting
17. Supporting the management of internal & external suppliers (building and site related)

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration or any other relevant field
• Minimum of 7-8 years of relevant facilities management experience or other relevant experiences/positions
• Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
• Good knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for business needs
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Good analytical/critical thinking
