Job title:

FACILITIES ENGINEER Cum Chargeman


Summary/Objective

The Facilities Engineer will be responsible for maintaining all Facilities Related Equipment at North American Satellite Facilities (Erie, Harrisburg, South Carolina Design Center (SCDC), SME, Wilsonville, and SOG). The Facilities Engineer will also liaise with Facility Point-of-Contacts (POCs) and Building Ownership to ensure all systems and equipment are working properly and that all pertinent Samtec personnel are up to date on all Safety training.


Essential Functions/Responsibilities
  • Ensure Facilities meet all local and state codes and are up to date with all permitting requirements.
  • Setup and continuous improvement of Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • Establish and maintain KPIs for PM performance.
  • Develop reports for KPIs and review with local teams for continuous improvements.
  • Provide technical guidance for troubleshooting and repairs for Facilities equipment issues.
  • Review and manage costs of all Facilities Maintenance Contracts.
  • Fire Suppression
  • HVAC
  • Cleaning
  • Service Contracts
  • Lawn/Landscape Maintenance
  • Snow Removal where required
  • Manage annual Capital Expenditure Activities for the Facilities.
  • Develop Project List and Prioritize with local leadership.
  • Update List as items are scheduled and completed.
  • Ensure all Facilities Maintenance personnel have appropriate training to perform duties safely.
  • Responsible for Samtec Satellite Facilities’ camera and security systems.
  • Support other Global Facilities related equipment and projects as required.

Required Experience
  • 7 – 10 years’ experience in Maintenance and Facility Management.
  • Experience in maintenance and operation of different facilities.
  • Experience in HAZMAT Disposal is required.
  • Knowledge of Technical Training is preferred (OSHA, Forklift, DOT, etc.)
  • Must have 20/40 Correctable Vision.
  • Lifting Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist.
  • Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes, and not suffer from any sensory deprivation and/or paralysis of the limbs.
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Related Technical Degree Preferred.
Training Required
  • On the Job Training as appropriate.
