Job summary

Jabil Malaysia in Penang is seeking a facilities engineer to support maintenance and continuous improvement of its facilities and infrastructure, ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant environment.

You will plan and execute maintenance projects, inspect systems, troubleshoot equipment, and manage documentation, while collaborating with EH&S and production to meet safety standards and operational needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field) or equivalent.
• 0-2 years of experience in facilities management, engineering, or a related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, design, and execution of facility maintenance projects, including preventative maintenance schedules and corrective actions.
• Conduct routine inspections of facility systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire suppression, etc.) to identify and address potential issues.
• Support the troubleshooting and repair of facility equipment and systems, often under the guidance of more experienced engineers.
• Assist in managing facility-related documentation, including blueprints, equipment manuals, and maintenance records.
• Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., EH&S, production) to ensure facility operations meet their needs and comply with safety regulations.
• Participate in the coordination of external vendors and contractors for facility services and repairs.
• Contribute to efforts to optimize energy consumption and implement sustainable facility practices.
• Respond to facility emergencies and provide immediate support as required.
• Learn and apply Jabil's quality and safety standards in all facility-related activities.
