Job summary

Jabil in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Facilities Engineer to support maintenance and continuous improvement of our facilities and infrastructure, ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant operation.

You will assist in planning, executing maintenance, inspecting systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), documenting workflows, and coordinating with EH&S and production to meet safety and regulatory standards. This role offers exposure to a global manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in facilities management, engineering, or related field (manufacturing preferred).
• Basic understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, design, and execution of facility maintenance projects including preventative schedules.
• Conduct routine inspections of facility systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire suppression).
• Support troubleshooting and repair of facility equipment and systems under guidance of engineers.
• Assist in managing facility-related documentation (blueprints, manuals, maintenance records).
• Coordinate with EH&S and production to meet safety and operation requirements.
• Coordinate external vendors and contractors for facility services and repairs.
• Contribute to energy optimization and sustainable facility practices.
• Respond to facility emergencies and provide immediate support.
• Learn and apply Jabil’s quality and safety standards in all activities.
