A leading construction firm in Malaysia is seeking a skilled Project Manager to oversee façade construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering or Construction Management and over 10 years of experience. Responsibilities include managing project delivery phases, ensuring quality compliance with ISO standards, and leading stakeholder communications. Interpret project specifications, drawings, contractual conditions, and statutory requirements relating to façade works.
Establish façade execution strategies, detailed work programmes, and resource plans aligned with overall project objectives and milestones.
Proactively identify project risks, quality risks, and safety hazards; implement mitigation and control measures in line with ISO 9001 risk‑based thinking and ISO 45001 hazard identification and risk assessment requirements.
Lead coordination of design and construction interfaces with consultants, architects, main contractors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to prevent clashes, delays, and scope ambiguities.
Lead and manage all phases of façade delivery, including design development, procurement, fabrication, logistics, site installation, testing, commissioning, and handover.
Monitor project performance against approved programmes, milestones, quality objectives, and safety KPIs, taking early corrective action where deviations are identified.
Chair façade coordination meetings and drive timely resolution of technical, quality, safety, and interface issues.
Ensure all façade works are executed in accordance with approved method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and safe work procedures.
Ensure façade works comply with approved drawings, specifications, applicable standards, and contractual quality requirements.
Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of shop drawings, material submissions, samples, mock‑ups, and technical documentation.
Promote a strong quality culture focused on defect prevention, right‑first‑time delivery, and continual improvement.
Ensure effective control of documented information, records, approvals, and traceability in accordance with Quality Management System requirements.
Ensure façade works are planned and executed in full compliance with site safety plans, legal requirements, and company occupational health and safety policies.
Enforce the implementation of hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk control measures (HIRARC) across all façade activities.
Demonstrate visible safety leadership by promoting safe work practices and intervening proactively to address unsafe acts or conditions.
Coordinate closely with safety teams to ensure audits, inspections, incident investigations, and corrective actions are effectively implemented and closed out.
Coordinate with commercial and procurement teams to ensure project budgets, cost forecasts, and financial performance are actively monitored and controlled.
Review, evaluate, and certify subcontractor progress claims, variation submissions, and final accounts.
Ensure efficient procurement planning and effective control of materials, labour, plant, and wastage to optimize project margins.
Maintain professional, transparent, and effective communication with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Manage client expectations through structured reporting, proactive issue management, and solution‑oriented engagement.
Represent the organization professionally in meetings, audits, technical reviews, and project governance forums.
Prepare structured and timely reports covering project progress, cost status, quality performance, safety performance, key risks, and corrective actions.
Capture lessons learned and actively contribute to organizational knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Degree‑qualified in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent.
10+ years of façade construction experience with proven end‑to‑end project ownership.
Strong technical authority in façade systems (curtain wall, cladding, glazing, architectural metal works).
Commercially astute, with experience managing budgets, variations, and subcontractor performance.
Demonstrated ability to make sound, proactive decisions in technically complex and high‑risk environments.
Comfortable operating within ISO 9001 and ISO 45001–governed organisations.
Leadership presence with strong stakeholder management and communication capability.
