About This Role

Simulator Technician

Prepares the Simulation Training Equipment for daily operation, such as performing the visual alignment and the pre / post flight. Carries out and evaluates Simulation Qualification testing (QTGs) and performs preventative maintenance for each training device, based on the published monthly schedules. Loads appropriate exercise scenarios and other tasks required to prepare for specific training sessions, while also completing Journey Logs at the start and finish of scheduled training sessions.

The role we are offering you:

1. Perform preventive maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
2. Assist in diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
3. Diagnose and correct routine problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
4. Utilize maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities.
5. Train technicians in basic skills.
6. Complete all designated training activities.
7. Actively pursue continued professional growth and training.
8. Perform pre-flight and post flight on all simulators.
9. Perform visual alignments.
10. Run and evaluate Qualification Test Guide (QTG) results.
11. Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications.
12. Learn and comply with CAE quality management system.
13. Provide customer service support and address customer needs in a timely manner.
14. Perform logistics duties, including parts received, repair, and testing/validation.
15. Perform housekeeping functions to maintain the simulators as required.
16. Perform administrative tasks as required.
17. Perform tasks to support the technical services group as required.

Our ideal candidate has:

1. 2-year technical degree or equivalent related training.
2. Minimum of 3 years direct simulator experience with at least 1 year relative simulator experience per assigned location.
3. Ability to troubleshoot to system level on at least multiple types of simulators.
4. Proficiency in using all types of test equipment.
5. Ability to use and interpret all diagnostic available on multiple types of simulators.
6. Ability to perform preventive maintenance, pre-flight, and post flight checks on any simulator in the fleet.
7. Ability to perform in-depth visual adjustment and set-ups on at least 1 type of visual system.
8. Ability to assist with projects such as refurbishments and other hardware modifications.
9. Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite.
10. Fluency in English.
