British American Tobacco has an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Executive in Sunway Geo, Selangor.

Role Positioning and Objectives

The Purchasing Executive will be responsible for supplier management and executing activities to support the delivery of KPIs related to Cash, Cost, Service, and SNO for the assigned business units. They will also actively adopt and implement digital transformation initiatives (such as Integrated Planning Transformation, Hive, P44, Kinaxis, SAP, PBI, and other online tools) for the assigned factory or end market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain relationships with suppliers.
  • Execute firm orders within lead-time, maintain target inventory levels, and optimize supplier pricing.
  • Monitor, action, and resolve supplier exceptions.
  • Align purchase orders within the firm zone.
  • Collaborate with the master planner (or SNP) and suppliers on purchase orders within lead-time.
  • Monitor and address inventory at risk of obsolescence.
  • Implement phasing in and out of materials as part of a controlled process, achieving deadlines with minimal costs.
  • Manage purchasing, sourcing, and transactional master data.
  • Share forecasts with suppliers.
  • Monitor and act upon constraints within suppliers.
  • Collaborate proactively with suppliers to drive process improvements.
  • Support invoice resolution issues with the Finance team.
  • Explore opportunities to improve planning efficiency and material ordering processes.
  • Resolve process or system issues to ensure compliance with business controls.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related field.
  • 1-3 years experience in Planning, Procurement, NPI, with manufacturing and commercial experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of materials and procurement, experience with ERP/Planning systems advantageous.
Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and digital skills.
  • Good understanding of Supply Chain processes and metrics.
  • Knowledge of IWS, CI tools, and agile concepts.
