Job Overview

UCSI Schools is seeking a dynamic and passionate English & Drama Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching English language and literature while also fostering creativity and performance skills through Drama education. This role requires a teacher who can inspire students to develop strong communication, critical thinking, and artistic expression.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in English Language, Literature, and Drama following the curriculum.
  • Encourage students to develop strong reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills through interactive learning activities.
  • Foster creative expression, confidence, and teamwork through drama performances, improvisation, and stage productions.
  • Guide students in scriptwriting, stage direction, acting, and public speaking.
  • Assess student progress through essays, projects, performances, and examinations, providing constructive feedback.
  • Encourage active class participation through debates, presentations, and theatrical performances.
  • Organize and lead school drama productions, poetry readings, and literary events.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students’ academic progress and artistic development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and extracurricular activities.
  • Support after-school clubs and drama-related extracurricular activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Drama, Performing Arts, Education, or a related field.
  • Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in English and/or Drama.
  • Experience teaching the Cambridge curriculum (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stage direction skills.
  • Passion for literature, performing arts, and student engagement.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students in both academic and creative subjects.
