The Executive Dean is a dual-role academic and strategic leader responsible for driving excellence across a designated vertical (Faculty of Business, Education & Humanities, or IT). The role ensures vertical-wide alignment in academic development, compliance, and faculty performance, while delivering local academic leadership at U to ensure quality teaching, learning, and student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic and Academic Leadership
- Shape and drive the vertical’s academic and commercial strategy across the group.
- Lead the faculty’s business planning process and ensure alignment with UNITAR’s group-wide strategic initiatives.
- Represent the faculty in Senate, Group Academic Board, and Examination Boards.
- Approve course materials (e.g., Learning Kits) for deployment on Course Networking (CN).
- Lead the development and constructive alignment of programs in compliance with MOHE, MQA, and internal quality standards.
- Drive new program development, innovation, and continuous quality improvement.
3. Faculty & Staff Development
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and oversight to academic staff across the group, including SMEs and Deans within UUCKL.
- Manage teaching delivery, workload planning, and performance evaluation.
- Foster academic scholarship, research, and innovation.
4. Quality Assurance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory frameworks (PA, FA, CQI, MQA).
- Lead academic reviews, audits, and reporting exercises.
- Chair or participate in institutional academic committees and ad hoc task groups.
5. Commercial Growth & Student Success
- Collaborate with Admissions, Marketing, and Student Experience teams to improve enrolment, GOT rates, employability, and progression.
- Leverage industry links and partnerships to align programs with workforce needs and enhance the vertical’s brand.

- Vertical-wide academic quality and regulatory compliance
- Development and enhancement of new programs
- Faculty and student performance (e.g., employability, attrition, GOT)
- Enrolment and revenue growth for the vertical
- Learning Kit quality and approval turnaround time
Qualifications
- PhD in a relevant discipline
- Minimum 10 years of academic and leadership experience
- Track record in academic governance, strategic planning, and curriculum development
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional and multi-campus teams
- Experience as Vice Counsellor
